You’re all signed up and ready to start broadcasting. Now it’s time to get your equipment together so you can start making money ASAP!
What you need:
- A desktop or laptop
- Broadband Internet connection
- A USB Webcam
- An HD Camera
Computer or Laptop–
Since you’re going to be broadcasting over the internet, the first thing you will need is a computer that can process the image fast. We support several Operating Systems including Windows and Mac OSX.
If you have any questions about your computer, our tech support team is available to help you find the right computer for your needs.
Broadband Internet Connection
In order to broadcast your stream, you will need high-speed internet with an upload speed of at least 1.5Mbps.
If you are under the required 1.5Mbps of upload speed, contact your internet service provider and ask them what is necessary to get higher internet speed. If you need assistance, please contact tech support.
USB Webcam
The quality of your webcam is very important because this is the window into your show. Ask any film maker and they will tell you, the most important investment they have made is in their camera. This is no different for webcamming.
If you’re looking for an affordable, quality webcam, many Cams.com models like the Logitech line of webcams. There are many models to choose from in all price ranges which is important if you are just getting started and don’t have hundreds of dollars to invest right away.
One thing we do recommend is that you find a webcam that has a remote control. It is not essential for broadcasting, but many models find it helpful when they want to zoom in and out without having to stop the show.
If you are using a laptop that has a built in webcam, you can use it; however it is highly discouraged. Most built-in webcams are not HD which results in poor picture quality, plus it greatly limits your freedom to move around. This creates a poor viewing experience for the members in your room and can really hinder your ability to make money.
This is the basic equipment you need to get started. As always, our tech support team is on-hand to help should you have any questions we didn’t cover in this post. Contact them at [email protected].
